HVR Energy signs a sponsorship agreement with the Spanish Olympic Committee through to Los Angeles 2028

The agreement was formalised at the Spanish Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Madrid, in the presence of Ana Alonso, a two-time Olympic medallist at Milano Cortina 2026, and Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui, Olympic silver medallist at Paris 2024.

HVR Energy, a Spanish company specialising in hydrogen infrastructure for mobility, has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), becoming an official sponsor of the organisation through to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. As part of this collaboration, the company will provide the COE with five hydrogen-powered vehicles to promote more sustainable mobility in its operations.

The partnership will enable the COE to reduce its carbon footprint and consolidate an exemplary sustainability model within Spanish sport. HVR Energy will also participate in joint awareness-raising and educational initiatives on clean energy within Spain’s sporting ecosystem.

The agreement was signed at the COE’s headquarters in Madrid by Alejandro Blanco, President of the COE, and Luis Felipe Suárez-Olea del Arco, Chairman of HVR Energy. The ceremony symbolised their shared commitment to building a more sustainable future by engaging the sports sector and making it more efficient, responsible and aligned with the major environmental challenges of the 21st century.

The event was also attended by two leading figures in Spanish sport: Olympic athlete Ana Alonso, a two-time medallist at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, and boxer Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui, Olympic silver medallist at the Paris 2024 Games. Both athletes embody the talent and resilience represented by the Olympic Movement.

Ana Alonso’s career has become one of the most inspiring stories in recent Spanish sport. The athlete won two medals at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games despite competing with a serious knee injury and after having been struck by a vehicle during a training session several months earlier. The incident tested her recovery and strengthened her status as a symbol of resilience in elite sport. “It is very positive to see sport and sustainability moving forward hand in hand. This agreement shows that a commitment to the future is also built by supporting athletes,” she said..   

Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui, meanwhile, achieved one of the greatest recent milestones in Spanish boxing by winning the silver medal in the super-heavyweight category at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Born in Marbella and trained at local clubs, the boxer has established himself as one of the leading representatives of a new generation of athletes combining talent, discipline and international potential. “It is excellent news that companies such as HVR Energy are joining the Olympic Movement. Agreements like this help athletes continue to develop and represent Spain with ambition and pride,” he said.

This collaboration forms part of the COE’s comprehensive strategy, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the roadmap of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which prioritises energy efficiency and emissions reduction. HVR Energy, meanwhile, strengthens its position in Spain’s energy transition and associates its brand with the Olympic cycle leading up to Los Angeles 2028.
