HVR Energy and CEEES sign a strategic agreement to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen refuelling stations across Spain

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalises the collaboration between both organisations to advance towards a nationwide renewable hydrogen refuelling network.

HVR Energy, a leading operator in the development of modular hydrogen solutions for sustainable mobility, and the Spanish Confederation of Service Station Operators (CEEES) have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly promote the deployment of hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS) in Spain.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes the basis for strategic cooperation aimed at facilitating the integration of renewable hydrogen into existing service stations, thereby promoting a realistic and efficient energy transition adapted to current infrastructure.

Zoilo Ríos Torre, New Energy Adviser to the President of CEEES, is participating as one of the sector representatives in this agreement. With extensive experience in sustainable mobility and energy strategies for service stations, Ríos reinforces CEEES’s active role in helping the sector adapt to new energy sources that contribute to the decarbonisation of transport.

The agreement includes the deployment of solutions such as ACTIVA, the station model developed by HVR Energy, which stands out for its compact design, low electricity consumption of 15 kW and ability to supply hydrogen at both 350 and 700 bar. Thanks to its modular design and rapid installation, these stations can be integrated without major construction work and without disrupting the daily operations of existing service stations.

The collaboration between HVR Energy and CEEES is aligned with national and European sustainable mobility objectives, facilitating the gradual adoption of renewable hydrogen as a key energy carrier in the decarbonisation of transport, particularly in long-distance transport and professional fleets.

This agreement forms part of HVR Energy’s roadmap, which includes one of Europe’s most ambitious hydrogen infrastructure plans: deploying 75 operational stations in Spain by 2030 and creating strategic supply corridors connecting the country’s main logistics routes.

At CEEES, the involvement of Zoilo Ríos and the organisation’s support are aimed at integrating service station operators into the transition towards clean energy, helping the sector expand its supply and service capabilities in response to today’s sustainable mobility challenges.

Through this alliance, both organisations are joining forces to facilitate access to renewable hydrogen throughout Spain, contributing to cleaner, safer and more efficient mobility.
