  • Both companies will work jointly on the development of a hydrogen refuelling station in Madrid designed to serve private-hire vehicles (VTCs), trucks and buses, with the aim of creating a complete hydrogen mobility ecosystem in the region.

The project envisages a target fleet of more than 100 hydrogen-powered vehicles and aims to position itself as one of the most ambitious initiatives currently under way in Spain in this field.

Madrid, 12 de mayo de 2026. – HVR Energy, a Spanish company specialising in the development and operation of green hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, and Corvus Global Service, a leading operator in the management of on-demand transport fleets, with more than 500 VTC licences and Uber as its largest client, have signed a strategic agreement to jointly promote the deployment of hydrogen mobility in Madrid. The collaboration will focus on the development of a high-capacity hydrogen refuelling station in Madrid for all types of vehicles.

More than a declaration of intent, the alliance reflects the firm commitment of both companies to turning this project into an operational reality. To this end, HVR Energy and Corvus are already working together on the technical, economic and regulatory definition of the infrastructure, as well as on establishing the agreements required for its implementation.

The project has been conceived with a clearly multimodal approach. From the outset, the station will be designed to supply not only Corvus’s professional fleet —for which a target fleet of more than 100 hydrogen-powered vehicles is planned— but also trucks, buses and other professional operators beginning their transition to this technology. This approach would lay the foundations for a complete hydrogen mobility ecosystem in the Madrid Region.

The parties are working towards bringing the hydrogen refuelling station into operation by late 2027 or early 2028. This would position it among the most ambitious initiatives currently under development in Spain, both in terms of the number of vehicles planned and the scale of the infrastructure.

This agreement reflects a very clear and shared intention: to work decisively to make one of the largest hydrogen mobility projects in the Madrid Region a reality. From the outset, the hydrogen refuelling station has been conceived as infrastructure open to the entire ecosystem —private-hire vehicles, heavy-duty transport and buses— because this is the only way to build solid and sustainable demand for green hydrogen in Spain,” said Luis Felipe Suárez-Olea del Arco, Chairman of HVR Energy. “Corvus shares the vision and level of ambition required to move this project forward within the timeframe we have set.”.

Jesús Ramos Fernández, CEO of Corvus, added: “Corvus is firmly committed to leading the transition towards zero-emission urban mobility, and this agreement with HVR Energy is a key part of that strategy. We are working towards progressively incorporating more than 100 hydrogen-powered vehicles into our fleet, which would represent one of the largest commitments to this technology in Spain’s VTC sector. In HVR, we have found the ideal technology partner to make this possible.”.

Infrastructure designed for the entire mobility ecosystem

The planned hydrogen refuelling station is being designed as a benchmark facility, sized from the outset to serve light-duty vehicles, heavy-duty vehicles and public transport vehicles simultaneously. This multimodal approach seeks to maximise station utilisation, accelerate the return on investment and, above all, provide a reliable refuelling point for the different types of operators transitioning to hydrogen in the region.

Its location in a strategic logistics hub also strengthens its potential to become integrated into the hydrogen corridors that HVR Energy is deploying across Spain, connecting the country’s main professional transport routes.

A project aligned with major international programmes

Both companies will collaborate on accessing hydrogen support programmes promoted by leading manufacturers and international mobility platforms, as well as on securing public and private incentives and financing mechanisms. This collaboration reinforces the strategic nature of the project and its ability to attract world-class technologies and operators to the Spanish ecosystem.
