HVR ENERGY and EVARM join forces to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen in road transport across Spain
02 October 2025
HVR Energy (Hidrógeno Verde Renovable S.L.) and EVARM have announced a strategic partnership to promote the development of the hydrogen ecosystem for road transport in Spain. Together, they will provide adapted vehicles and refuelling infrastructure, enabling companies and public authorities to transition to zero-emission mobility with confidence.
HVR: the hydrogen refuelling network connecting Spain to the future
HVR Energy is a Spanish company specialising in the development and operation of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure. Following the deployment of its first station in Coslada, Madrid, the company is progressing with an ambitious expansion plan to operate 75 stations by 2030, positioning itself as Spain’s leading renewable hydrogen operator and one of the foremost players in Europe.
ACTIVA, the model developed by HVR, combines technological innovation, operational flexibility and competitive costs. It addresses the current bottleneck in hydrogen distribution while ensuring that users have access to reliable, fast and safe refuelling. Its value proposition forms part of the European decarbonisation strategy and is aligned with the targets established under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).
EVARM: pioneers in vehicle retrofitting and hydrogen-powered vehicles
With more than a decade of experience, EVARM has established itself as a leading company in the design, manufacture, approval and conversion of industrial vehicles to sustainable solutions. The company develops new hydrogen-powered vehicles, trucks and minibuses, and converts existing fossil-fuel fleets to hydrogen combustion or fuel-cell systems. This technology significantly reduces their carbon footprint without requiring the replacement of the entire existing vehicle fleet.
Its achievements include projects involving heavy-duty vehicles, buses, long-distance trucks and municipal fleets, positioning EVARM as a key partner in the energy transition of the transport sector. EVARM is currently expanding its presence in Spain with new facilities in Madrid, enabling it to provide direct support to strategic customers and fleets seeking an immediate transition to hydrogen.
A joint ecosystem for early hydrogen adopters
The partnership between HVR Energy and EVARM provides a practical response to one of the sector’s main challenges: the need to develop vehicles and refuelling stations simultaneously. Through this alliance, early adopters will have access to a complete hydrogen mobility ecosystem, enabling professional fleets to benefit from both hydrogen-powered vehicles ready for operation and an expanding nationwide refuelling network.
In this way, both companies are removing the main barrier to market entry and enabling organisations seeking to lead the energy transition to act without having to wait for the market to mature.
“Our mission is to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen mobility in Spain and Europe. Through this partnership with EVARM, users will have access to a comprehensive solution: available vehicles and a growing refuelling network that allows them to begin operating immediately,” said Santiago Ramas, Managing Director of HVR Energy.
“Our commitment is to offer fleets a practical and competitive transition to hydrogen. The partnership with HVR ensures that the vehicles we convert or manufacture can rely on the infrastructure required to operate sustainably and without limitations,” said Xavier Ribas, CEO and founder of EVARM.
